Moulding

The quality of your finished product will depend on the quality of the plastic moulding.

Plastic injection moulding is one of TTAP's core services, based on many years experience and a wide variety of machinery operating 24 hours a day to ensure efficient and competitively-priced production. We can easily accommodate small and large plastic mouldings as we have 36 conventional injection moulding machines, 1 twin barrel moulding machine and 2 shuttle table split line moulders ranging from 25 to 720 tonnes with a maximum shot weight of 2.5kg.

All our machines are fitted with microprocessor controllers for monitoring and controlling the moulding parameters. Many of these machines are equipped with computer- controlled robots for faultless process management, offering repeated and consistent quality - each time, every time. We offer advice on the most suitable moulding materials and specialise in the production of self-coloured mouldings which are used for cosmetic applications. This has led to the use of a number of specifically designed and manufactured polypropylenes which are particularly suited to acoustic applications.

We also offer a unique 'overmoulding' process, where hard and soft polymers are welded together in the mould by molecular bonding. We developed this process specifically for the production of drive units cones and surrounds, isolating tweeters and woofers, however it has been used in many other applications where hard and soft materials are required on the same component e.g. toothbrushes and gardening equipment.

Plastic components requiring large variation of wall thickness and sections are carried out using Bauer Kompressoren gas injection equipment. The lower injection pressures reduce cycle times and allow much greater freedom of design for improved appearance of finished products

Our computerised plastics manufacturing system provides full traceability and complete flexibility. For more information, please contact us.
